What's going on with the School District Levy deal?

We received a tip on this issue and it doesn't sound like a lot of increase, but it adds up and it NEVER stops. I think i may attend the next school board meeting and see what is going on, because the kicker is that attendance is way down and I'd like to know where that money is going. Is it all going to salaries for admins or is it really going to teachers and students? These are important questions.

Hi Sam, You ask a good question that deserves a sincere answer. Q: "Why does [insert government institution] continue to overspend"? ("stay in budget") A: This won't be pretty, prolly feel a little gross, and shameful, but it's pretty accurate. Hold on! It's a matter of perspective essentially. You know what you want/ don't. Your husband probably has a good idea of what you do/don't want. Your neighbor less so. Me, I am oblivious. Moreso, who cares more about your checking account? You! Your husband as well. Perhaps your neighbor. Me (some anon neighbor), I don't care much at all. How does this insane banter coalesce? Government (whichever variety you finger) is ALWAYS spending SOMEONE ELSE'S money on a purpose they intend for SOMEONE THEY DONT KNOW. It's not just the skewl board. It's the kommisars, Boise, the labor union, etc et al. The more middlemen you excuse between your coin and your benefit, the worse your outcome. They are spending someone else's money on someone else's "benefit" (whom they don't even know). So, in conclusion, it's an institutional money collection system which has DMV-level customer service, department of defense/war financial accountability, and a purpose a left-field as USAID exploring the sexual behaviors of tree frogs in Cambodia. Might seem like a exaggerated answer, until you dare to actually see what these organizations are doing day/day, outcome/outcome. It isn't a joke.

Everybody is bringing up good points and I, for one, am pretty sick of all of these hands trying to get at my wallet. Anyone have some good ideas on what we can do to stop it? We don't get to vote on the Superintendent or any budget stuff, I don't think. What CAN we do, besides ask people to not vote for the levy and other sneaky taxes they are always trying to push through?
